New Assistant Principal

Susan Stirewalt named assistant principal!

Getting to know the new AP!

I have been joyfully serving Aledo ISD since August of 1989. I have taught 4th grade, 3rd grade, PE and have been the LAMT teacher for 13 years.  This is my 25th year in Aledo ISD and 26 years in teaching.  I was on the staff that opened Stuard in 2000 and worked there until 6 years ago when I went to Coder.

I am a Parker County native and grew up in Weatherford. I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1988.

I love living and working in this community. I am a member of the Aledo AdvoCats and have been the Directional Volunteer Coordinator for the AdvoCat Run,Walk or Crawl 5K for the past several years. I get involved in everything I can with my school. I have coached and judged UIL, co-sponsored clubs, coordinated the Spelling Bee, served on many committees and participated in Runner's Club. I enjoy running, playing golf and watching my daughter perform with Kids Who Care. I have been married 22 years to Barry Stirewalt and have a 7th grade daughter named Sydney Stirewalt. I was honored to receive the Marva Collins Elementary Teacher of the Year Award in May of 2013.

Giving Tree Project
Book Drive

It’s Giving Tree time again! For the final six weeks, we will be collecting books to donate to Cooks Children’s Hospital. They have a library for patients to check out books and are always collecting new books to stock the shelves. The book drive will be from Monday, April 22nd to Friday, May 24th

Here are a few things to think about when selecting books to donate:
  • When sending books, please remember to buy new books for the patients to enjoy.
  • Please remember that the patients of Cooks Children’s Hospital are all ages from babies to adolescents. Books for older children are often forgotten.
